Mrs. McCarty, 80

BOYCE, La. -- Mrs. Emma McCarty, 80, died Wednesday in a Winnfield hospital after a long illness.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Friday at the Hurricane Grove Baptist church with Rev. Virness Dyess officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery under direction of Edmond's Funeral Home.

Survivors include a son, Horace McCarty of Shreveport; two daughters, Mrs. Oscar Simmons of Joyce and Mrs. Coy Lawrence of Sikes; a sister, Mrs. Mary Newman of St. Joseph; two brothers, Charles Tatum and Will Tatum, both of Joyce; 16 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.
