Emmett Edmiston

Emmett ``Bill'' Edmiston, 71, of Ruston, died Wednesday evening at Lincoln General Hospital following a long illness.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday at Spears Funeral Home chapel with the Rev. Elder L. C. Swanner officiating. Burial will take in Forest Lawn Cemetery in Ruston.

He was a native of Jackson Parish and a resident of Lincoln Parish for the past 30 years, a retired employee of Louisiana Tech and he was a member of the Mount Zion Baptist Church of Zion.

Survivors include his widow, Mrs. Bill Edmiston of Ruston; two daughters, Mrs. Jack Gibson of Ruston and Mrs. Joe Bill Alexander of Haughton; three brothers, Jim Edmiston of Clay, Charlie Edmiston of Simsboro and Lewis Edmiston of Ruston; one sister, Mrs. Hattie Martin of Salt Lake City, Utah; and one grandchild.

Pallbearers will be Jerald Bartlett, Larry Edmiston, Doc Edmiston, Jim Edmiston, Odel Edmiston and Donny Edmiston.
