Emmett F. Walker

Services for Emmett F.Walker of Newton were held Saturday, Nov. 19, 2005 at James F. Webb Funeral Home, Newton, Chapel with the Rev. Dr. Frank Harmon officiating. Burial was in Newton County Memorial Gardes with Webb in charge.

Walker, 90, died Thursday, Nov. 17, 2005 at Woodland Court Nursing Center in Newton.

Visitation was Friday evening at the funeral home.

He is survived by two daughters; Joyce and her husband Lewis Everett and Mary Carol and her husband Glendon Pace all of Newton; four grandchildren; Earl Everett of Meridian, Doug Everett of Newton, Melissa Leathers, Will Leathers, Kate Leathers and Scott Leathers all of Mason, Ohio, Kimberly Becker and John Becker. both of Nashville, Tenn.

Walker was preceded in death by his wife, Vergie Shepherd Walker; his parents, William and Candace McCarty Walker; five sisters and four brothers.

He was a native of Newton and a member of First Baptist Church of Newton where he was a member of the Sanctuary Sunday School class. He was a retired supervisor at Ford's Ice Cream Company and was a charter member of the Red Hat Deer Club.

Pallbearers were Earl Everett, Doug Everett, Dan Walker, Johnny Duke, Joe Beeland and Allen Hart.
