Mr. E. Perry, better known as Uncle Bud Perry, after an illness of several years died of a stroke Tuesday night, March 18, 1941 about 9:00 o'clock.

Funeral services were held at Mount Carmel Church, West Blocton Thursday afternoon at three o'clock. Interment in the Mt. Carmel Cemetery beside his wife who preceded him to the grave two years ago.

Uncle Bud was the oldest citizen of our community, never complaining through his long illness, and always welcomed his friends when they visited him.

He is survived by four children, Mr. Fred R. Perry, Mrs. Jim Callahan, and Mr. Calvin Perry, Lucile and Mrs. Charles Chapel [sic Chapple] of Birmingham; 14 grandchildren and seven great grandchildren and one sister, Mrs. Sis Mize of Vernontown.
