Death Claims Foster at 85
E. A. Foster, 85, Newcastle, a retired farmer and lumberman, died Monday night in Oklahoma City.
Born in Bosque County, Tex., Jan 13, 1875, Foster moved to Minco in 1897. A year later he moved to Newcastle and then to Norman in 1904.
He helped organize and was a charter member of the Norman Rotary Club and was a Norman school board member for 10 years.
Foster moved to Oklahoma City in 1922 and was in the lumber business in Norman and Oklahoma City for 35 years. Upon retiring he moved back to Newcastle. He was a member of the Baptist Church of Newcastle.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday in Primrose Chaple. The Rev. E. F. Hallock, pastor of the First Baptist Church, will be in Charge. Burial will be in the IOOF Cemetery.
Survivors include his wife, Ida, of the home, two sons, Dewey F., Amarillo, Tex., and E.A. Foster, Jr., 1205 Camden Way: a daughter, Mrs. Glen Wiley, Oklahoma City; 8 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great-grandchild.
Bearers will be grandsons and nephews, Frank E Flowers, Frank Abernathy, Ben Querry, Ron Querry, Phil Abernathy, and Dr. John R. Caughron.
