Mr. E. E. Payne Died at Macon Early Wednesday
Funeral Services at Reynolds Thursday Afternoon at Four o'Clock.
Mr. Eric Eugene Payne, 71, well known Taylor county citizen died at a Macon hospital at 1:30 o'clock Wednesday morning. Mr. Payne's death was attributed to a heart condition. He had been ill for several weeks.
Mr. Payne was born in this county Aug. 4, 1888, son of the late Mr. Andrew J. and Mrs. Susan F. Payne. His wife, the former Miss Ruby James, preceded him in death several years ago. He was a member of the Reynolds Baptist church and a Mason. During his active years Mr. Payne was an extensive farmer in the Beechwood section of the county.
Funeral for Mr. Payne will occur at the Reynolds Baptist church Thursday, 4:00 p.m. Rev. J. L. McConnell, pastor of the church will officiate. He will be assisted by Elder John Mangham of Reynolds. Interment will be in Hill Crest cemetery at Reynolds.
Survivors include one son, Mr. Henry Payne of Reynolds; two daughters, Mrs. James Gray of Reynolds and Mrs. Marion Cochran, Tampa, Fla.; a sister, Mrs. W. L. Woldrop [sic Waldrop], Port Royal, S. C.; nine grand children and four great grand children.
