Mrs. Erin Kathleen Smith Fowler
SHREVEPORT, LA -- On December 16, 2000 Kathy Fowler began, as she put it, “My most exciting and awaited journey, my trip home to heaven, I've always known when God's work for me here was finished He would call me home.”
She grew up in New Orleans and was a lifelong resident of Shreveport. Her mother, Orlando Smith, father, Charles Raymond “Charlie” Smith, and brothers Orien Wayne “Butch” Smith and Sonny Taylor went before to prepare the way. She never retired as a homemaker, wife, and mother.
Funeral services for Mrs. Fowler will be conducted Monday, December 18, 2000 at 3 p.m. at Wellman Funeral Chapel. Officiating will be Rev. Shirley Kelley.
Visitation will be 2 to 5 p.m. Sunday afternoon at the funeral home.
Mrs. Fowler passed away Saturday at her home at the age of 68. She was a member of the Shreveport Church of Hope and The Highland Club.
“She sees through eyes of love, she listens with a heart of understanding; she possesses that certain something extra deep within her soul, that makes her a Mother.”

Mrs. Fowler is survived by her beloved husband of 47 years, William James “Bill” Fowler, twin daughters, Elizabeth and Charlotte Fowler, sisters, Marie Santillanes and Jeanie Martin Smith Woods, brother Allen “AL” Smith, numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives and Friends considered Family.
