Ernest B. Gurman Summoned Here

Ernest Bacil Gurman, 47, died at a local hospital yesterday after a month's illness.

Mr. Gurman was a native of Mississippi, and had been employed here the last several years as a meat cutter. He made his home at 305 Chestunt [sic Chestnut] St.

Surviving are his mother [sic wife], Mrs. Gladys H. Gurman of Jackson, Miss., and a sister [sic his mother], Mrs. Alice Gurman of Clarksdale, Miss.

Funeral arrangements, to be announced later, are in charge of Ross-Burke Co.

Ernest B. Gurman Dies In Nevada

Ernest B. Gurman, Sr., a former resident of Jackson, died Monday afternoon in Reno, Nevada. He was 47.

He had lived in Jackson for 12 years, where he was co-owner with his twin brother, Earl, of G and M Cash Groceries. Earl preceeded him in death last November.

A resident of Reno for five years, he had been in ill health for several years, but became critically ill about two weeks ago.

He was a Mason and a Shriner, affiliated with the Wahabi Temple while in Jackson.

Survivors include his son, Air Cadet Ernest G. [sic Ernest B.] Gurman, Jr., Ellington Field, Texas; his mother, Mrs. Alice Gurman; a sister, Mrs. Charlie Mae Spradley; a brother, Cecil Gurman, all of Clarksdale.

The body will arrive in Clarksdale Friday morning. The funeral in charge of Richard Funeral home, will be held Saturday. Arrangements are incomplete.
