E. D. Meeks Dies Here Of Heart Attack

E. D. Meeks, 42 year old Brandon merchant, died at a local hospital at 5:30 p.m. Wednesday from a heart attack suffered about an hour before.

A member of the Brandon Baptist church, Mr. Meeks was also a deacon and treasurer in the church. He was a member of Board of Aldermen of Brandon, a charter member of the Brandon Lions club, and a member of the Brandon Masonic lodge. He was chairman of the Eastern Star.

Survivors are his wife, daughter, Ann Shields Meeks, 4 years old; father, N. H. Meeks of Louin, five brothers, Ernest [sic Forest] Meeks, Bob Meeks, Delma Meeks, all of Louin, and Troy Meeks of Lake and Ray Meeks of Camden, Ark., four sisters, Mrs. B. H. Evans of Lawrence, Mrs. Virgil Roebuck of Lake, Mrs. J. N. Brown of Jackson and Miss Oma Meeks of Louin.
