CRYSTAL SPRINGS -- Ernest Whittington, 84, died Saturday at St. Dominic-Jackson Memorial Hospital. Services are 2 p.m. today at Highland Baptist Church with burial in Crystal Springs City Cemetery. Stringer's Funeral Home is handling arrangements.
He was a farmer and native of Crystal Springs.
He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Maude Taylor Whittington; sons, Ernest Bob Whittington of Houston, Texas, Jimmy R. Whittington of Zachary, La., and John R. Whittington of Crystal Springs; daughters, Mrs. Vera Taylor, Mrs. Shirley Izard and Mrs. Marty Whittington Bates, all of Crystal Springs; sister, Mrs. Lena Taylor of Crystal Springs; brother, Grant Whittington of Crystal Springs; and 21 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
