Erwin Ahrens
Services for Erwin Ahrens, 76, of Kerrville, who died Monday in a local nursing home, will be held at 3:30 p.m. Wednesday in Grimes Funeral Chapels with Chaplain Will Boggot officiating.
Burial will follow in Sunset Cemetery in Mountain Home.
Born March 25, 1912, at the Morris Ranch in Gillespie County, Mr. Ahrens was a lifetime resident of the Mountain Home and Kerrville area. At one time he and his brother operated the Mountain Home grocery and later the Kerrville Food Market.
He was a member of the Lutheran church.
Survivors include two daughters, Jean Farenthold of Allen and Beverly Ahrens of Kerrville; one son, Charles Ahrens of Kerrville; one sister, Margaret Kneese of Kerrville; one brother, Guenther Ahrens of Kerrville; six grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers are Andy Keller, Freddy Duderstadt, Clifton Tenberg, Ernest Walter Kott, Wayne Kneese and Ronny Kneese.
