E. E. Parker, 56, Dies; Rites Held Sat. At Sikes
Essie Earl Parker, 56, of Sikes died suddenly Thursday, May 21, 1971 from an
apparent heart attack.
A native of Sikes, he was pastor of the Sikes Pentecostal Church.
Funeral services were held at 4 p.m. Saturday in the Sikes Pentecostal Church
with the Rev. Rob Blunt and the Rev. A. B. Connor officiating.
Burial was in the Hurricane Grove Cemetery under the direction of Southern
Funeral Home in Winnfield.
Survivors include his widow, Mrs. E. E. Parker; two sons, Michael Parker of
Sikes and Roger Earl Parker of Edmond, Wash.; four daughters, Mrs. Joann
Rowell of Shreveport, Mrs. Alice Baker of Houston, Texas, Mrs. Reba Huhn of
Columbus, Indiana, and Mrs. Angeline Curtis of Columbia; his mother, Mrs.
Angeline Curtis of Columbia; four brothers, Alvis Parker of Kansas; Eddie
Parker of Robeline; Curtis Parker and Jesse Parker, Jr., both of Oak Ridge;
and seven grandchildren.
