WHITTINGTON RITES TODAY

Well Known Auburn Woman Laid To Rest This Afternoon

Funeral services for Miss Estelle Whittington, 50, who died at [the] family residence in Auburn, Miss., at 10:00 a.m., Sunday, Nov. 22, were scheduled for 2:00 o'clock this afternoon at the Montgomery Church, with interment to follow in that cemetery.

The Rev. W. A. Gill of the Eastside Baptist church, McComb, conducted the services. Pallbearers were Marvin Whittington, John Whittington, Elwin Gammell, Melvin May, Trop Magee, Milton Magee, nephews of the deceased.

Miss Whittington, widely known and greatly beloved, was making her home with her sister, Mrs. May, at Auburn at the time of her death. She was a member of a large and well known family.

Survivors include four brothers, J. W. Whittington and Frank Whittington of McComb, Joe Whittington of Auburn and Tom Whittington of Worcester, Mass.; four sisters, Mrs. Sallie Magee of Tylertown, Mrs. May Gammell of Eddiceton, Mrs. Florence May of Auburn, and Mrs. Bernice Prestridge of Bogue Chitto Route 3.
