Ethel Delaplane Powers
Graveside service for Ethel Delaplane Powers, 92, of New London, and formerly of Bryan is set for 11 a.m. Thursday at the Bryan City Cemetery. The Rev. Lawrence Smith will officiate.
Visitation will be from 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at Cottle-Pearson Funeral Home in Overton, Texas.
Mrs. Powers died Tuesday in a New London nursing home.
She was born in Darke County, Ohio.
She was a resident of Bryan for over 50 years, where she retired from the Texas Agriculture Extension Service. She was a member of Steep Hollow Baptist Church near Bryan.
She was preceded in death by two husbands, Dr. John Delaplane and Lum Powers.
Survivors include a daughter and son-in-law, Jane and Wayne Lacy of Arp; two stepdaughters and a step-son-in-law, Edna and Robert Kilmer of Lake Livingston and Betty Gibson of Fort Worth; and numerous grandchildren.
