SKOV, Ethel May (Homan)

Ethel May Skov of Red Deer passed away at Michener Hill Extendicare on Friday, December 26, 2014 at the age of 97 years. Ethel was born March 21, 1917 at Talbot, AB.

She was predeceased by her loving and dedicated husband, Richard (Dick) Skov and all her siblings, five sisters; Violet, Helen, Ann, Dorothy, and Vera, and three brothers; Bud, John, and Gordon.

Ethel leaves to cherish her memory her children; Harvey (Doreen) Skov of Okotoks, AB, Joan Hiron of Edmonton, AB, and Karen (Jack) McFarlane of Red Deer, AB, seven grandchildren, seventeen great-grandchildren, and four great-great-grandchildren, as well as numerous loving and caring nieces and nephews, and her extended family -- the caregivers of the 1200 household Extendicare.

Ethel's life was her family. She will be sadly missed and forever loved and remembered by everyone who knew and loved her.

A Funeral Service and celebration of life will be held at Eventide Funeral Chapel, 4820-45 Street, Red Deer, on Thursday, January 8, 2015 at 1:00 p.m. Those wishing to pay their respects may do so from 11:30 a.m. and 12:30 p.m. A Graveside Service will follow the reception at the Blackfalds Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, if desired, memorial donations in Ethel's honour may be made directly to a charity of your choice.
