Ethel Ruth Burke
November 25, 1914 - December 4, 2007

Ethel Ruth Keeble Burke, 93, of Beaverton, Oregon, died Tuesday, December 4, 2007. Ethel was born in White City, Kansas. After college she moved to Louisiana where she met her husband, Munson Burke, who pre-deceased her in 1989. Ethel and Munson returned to Louisiana in 1976 after their retirement. They had been living in San Diego, California, where Ethel worked as a probation officer for the San Diego County Probation Department. After Munson's death in 1989, Ethel moved to Montrose, California, to live close to her daughter Kathleen Dale, and then later moved to San Diego, California. The last two years she has lived in Beaverton, Oregon, where she moved to be close to her daughter Margaret Bengry and her granddaughter Jeanine Rood.

Survivors include two daughters, Kathleen Marie Dale of Ramona, California, and Margaret Faye Bengry of Yamhill, Oregon; one son, Lawrence Michael Burke of Las Vegas, Nevada; seven grandchildren: David Dale of Indio, California; Michael Dale of San Diego, California; Lauren Dale-Dolphin of Encinitas, California; Anne Jackson of Sedro Woolley, Washington; Carey Norton of Las Vegas, Nevada, and Emily Hein of Las Vegas, Nevada; and seven great-grandchildren.

A memorial service was held in Escondido, California, on January 5, 2008, at the Westminister Presbyterian Church.

A graveside service for the interment of her ashes will be held on January 26, 2008, at 1 p.m. at Alexandria Memorial Gardens in Alexandria.
