Obituary of Ether Gates McDaniel

Services for Ether Gates McDaniel, age 98 of Olla will be held at 2 p.m., Sunday, January 4, 2004 from the Urania Baptist Church in Urania with Rev. Bo Prather officiating. Interment will follow in the Good Hope Cemetery east of Kelly.

Mrs. McDaniel was born in Sikes on September 15, 1905 to the union of Jessie William and Lela Crain Gates and died Thursday, January 1, 2004 at her residence in Olla.

She was a homemaker and a member of the Urania Baptist Church.

Survivors include her sons: Kindred Laverl Pepper of Satellite Beach, Florida and Doyle Pepper of Columbia, her daughter: Miriam V. Cole of Olla and several grandchildren and a host of other relatives.

Pallbearers will be Johnny Gates, Hollis Gates, Joe Wilson, Jerry Douglas,

Visitation will be Saturday from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. and Sunday from 9 a.m. until noon at Riser Funeral Home, Hwy 165, Olla and from l p.m. until time of services at the Urania Baptist Church, Urania.
