Etta D. Whittington

Etta Davis Whittington, 81, of Jackson and formerly of McComb, died Sept. 4, 2002, at Mississippi Baptist Medical Center in Jackson.

Visitation is 5-8 tonight at Catchings Funeral Home in McComb, and 9 a.m. Saturday until services there at 11 a.m. The Revs. Ernest Whittington and Ted Bowlin will officiate. Burial will be in Hollywood Cemetery.

Mrs. Whittington was born June 20, 1921, in Franklin County, the daughter of William and Katie Lee Nunnery Davis.

She was a homemaker and a member of the Baptist faith.

Mrs. Whittington was preceded in death by her parents; a daughter, Annette Cain; and numerous brothers and sisters.

Survivors include two sons and one daughter-in-law, Billy W. Whittington of Pearl and Tracy and Wanda Bisch of of Richland; three daughters and a son-in-law, Elsie and R. Davis Haygood Sr. of McComb, Janette Wingate of Pearl and Wanda McKean of Florence; a brother and sister-in-law, Richard and Geneva Davis of McComb; a sister and brother-in-law, Della and Joe Bradshaw of Natchez; 26 grandchildren, 37 great-grandchildren, seven great-great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be Ken Whittington, Christopher Haygood, Billy William Whittington Jr., Tommy Whittington, Cory Kelly, Terry McDaniel and Dicky McDaniel.
