Mrs. J. DeMasters
BRECKENRIDGE (RNS) -- Mrs. James M. DeMasters, 86, who lived in Breckenridge for 42 years, died at 6:30 a.m. Saturday at her home in Dallas. She had been in failing health for three months.
Funeral will be at 2 p.m. Sunday in the Walker St. Church of Christ, with Jimmy Cox, minister, officiating. Burial will be in Breckenridge Cemetery under the direction of Melton Funeral Home.
Born Mary Etta Hawthorne Nov. 21, 1883, in Seagoville, she married James M. DeMasters Oct. 5, 1902, in Kaufman County. He died in 1967. The couple moved to Breckenridge in 1927 from Ranger. She moved to Dallas a year ago.
She was a member of the Walker St. Church of Christ.
Survivors include four daughters, Mrs. Kelly [sic Kellet] Sayre of Irving, Mrs. Bill Melton of Lubbock, Mrs. Hugh Fowler of Morley, Mo., and Mrs. Carl Carter of Dallas; two sons, Clyde of Breckenridge and Vernon of Odessa; two sisters, Mrs. Lillie Smith of San Angelo and Mrs. Grace Smith of Grapevine; one brother, Ed Birchfield of Ardmore, Okla.; 30 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren.
