Services for Eugene Etheridge Jr. of McCall Creek are 2 p.m., Wednesday, June 30, at Faith Church in McCall Creek with burial in the church cemetery. Community Funeral Services is in charge of arrangements.

Visitation is Tuesday from 5-9 p.m., at the church.

Bro. Etheridge, 77, died June 28, 2004, at his residence. He was born in Gilbert, La. on Oct. 31, 1926, to Eugene Etheridge Sr. and Lessie Stevens.

He was a minister. He was a World War II U.S. Navy veteran.

Preceding him in death were his parents; one sister; and three brothers.

Survivors are his wife, Barbara Freeman Etheridge of McCall Creek; his daughters, Thelma J. Delozier of Meadville, Judy L. Adair of McComb, and Robin Sterling of Bude; his sons, Ronald E. Etheridge and Kimble A. Etheridge, both of Meadville; one sister, Earline Ruff of Clinton; two brothers, James F. Patt of Baton Rouge and Donald R. Patt of Prospect, Conn.; eight grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

Eugene Etheridge

Services for Eugene Etheridge of McCall Creek are 2 p.m., Wednesday, June 30, at Faith Church in McCall Creek with burial in Faith Cemetery. Community Funeral Services is in charge of arrangements.

Visitation was Tuesday from 5-9 p.m., at the church and will be Wednesday from 1 p.m. until the service, at the church.

The Rev. Juanita Smith will officiate.

Mr. Etheridge, 77, died June 28, 2004, at his residence after a lengthy illness. He was born in Gilbert, La. on Oct. 31, 1926, to the late Eugene Etheridge Sr. and the late Lessie Stevens Cask.

He was a veteran who served in the U.S. Navy on the U.S.S. Columbia in World War II. He made his home in McCall Creek, where he was a Methodist minister for 32 years. Over the last 15 years, he served in prison ministries throughout Southwest Mississippi. Mr. Etheridge was an avid outdoorsman who loved to hunt, fish and garden.

Survivors are his wife of 57 years, Barbara Freeman Etheridge; three daughters and sons-in-law, Thelma and Kenneth Delozier of Meadville, Judy and Forrest Adair of McComb, and Robin and Brent Sterling of Bude; two sons and a daughter-in-law, Ronnie Etheridge of Meadville, and Kimble and Tanya Etheridge of Meadville; eight grandchildren, Ryan Adair of McComb, Tara Adair of McComb, Jeanna and Chris Delozier of Tulsa, Okla., Stacey and Correy Delozier of Meadville, Jeffrey Delozier of Meadville, Casey Hudson of Vicksburg, Cody Hudson of Bude, and Austin Etheridge of Meadville; and four great-grandchildren, Trent Delozier, Alyssa Gordon, Marissa Delozier and Chazz Delozier.

Pallbearers will be Ryan Adair, Chris Delozier, Correy Delozier, Jeffrey Delozier, Cody Hudson and Wayne Etheridge.
