Eunice Buie Nash

NATCHEZ -- Services for Eunice Buie Nash, 86, of Nashville, Tenn. formerly of Natchez, who died Friday, Jan. 10, 2003, in Nashville, will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Laird Funeral Home Union Street Chapel with the Revs. Willie Joe Ellis and Dave DeVries officiating.

Burial will be in the Greenlawn Memorial Park under the direction of Laird Funeral Home.

Visitation is from 5 to 7 p.m. today and from 1 p.m. until service time Wednesday at the funeral home.

Mrs. Nash was born Nov. 7, 1916, in Eddiceton, the daughter of Dr. Neil Henry and Tennie Lee Buie.

She grew up in Fayette, was a graduate of Belhaven College and was employed by the Jackson, Yazoo City and Natchez City School Systems. She taught for many years at Washington and McLaurin Elementary Schools in Natchez and was retired from the Natchez-Adams School System. She was a member of First Presbyterian Church.

Mrs. Nash was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, James A. Nash.

Survivors include two daughters, Pat Nash and Priscilla Nash, both of Nashville; one sister, Hallie Buie Turney of Alcoa, Tenn.; and a number of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Pallbearers will be Ray Bryant, Robert Neal, Leonard Tutor, Glenn Turney Jr., Robert Prospere and Tom Ulm.

Honorary pallbearers will be C. G. Prospere, Jack Foster and Jim Wickerham.

The family requests memorials be made to Natchez Children's Home or The Guardian Shelter.
