Funeral for Mrs. Hooker Held at Woods
Funeral services were held at Woods Methodist Church at 3:30 p.m. Saturday for Mrs. Eunice Hooker, 73, a life-long resident of Woods Community, who died at Panola Hospital Friday.
She was a well-beloved neighbor and friend to all around her and from early childhood had been a member of the Methodist Church. Her husband passed away in 1951.
The service was conducted by the Rev. Jerry Irvin.
Burial was in the Wood Cemetery with Hawthorn Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
Surviving are two sons, Dan and Charles Hooker, both of Tenaha; three daughters, Mrs. Seth Smith and Mrs. Gus Shotmire [sic Sholmire], both of Carthage, and Mrs. Lundy Bonsman [sic Bousman] of Nacogdoches; four brothers, Laury and Lawson Knight of Carthage and George and Sidney Knight of Tenaha; two sisters, Mrs. Lizzie Baldwin of Greggtown and Mrs. Evie Spencer of Carthage; and five grandchildren.
