EVA TAUNTON CARMACK
KINGSPORT -- Eva Taunton Carmack, 80, 229 Archdale Drive, died at 3:15 a.m. Tuesday at her home following an extended illness.
She was born in Dothan, Ala., and spent her early years in Dothan and Panama City, Fla. After World War II, she lived in Jacksonville, Fla., and came to Kingsport in 1949.
Mrs. Carmack was a graduate of Dothan High School and Whitney School of Business. She was a member of Colonial Heights United Methodist Church, V.F.W. Auxiliary and D.A.V. Auxiliary.
Her parents, G. W. and Bertha Taunton; sister, Ruth Goodson; and two brothers, Charles Taunton and Hugh Taunton preceded her in death.
Surviving are her husband of 61 years, Ancel P. Carmack; daughter, Carole Carmack, both of Kingsport; granddaughter, Andrea Crawley Payne and husband Alex, Elizabethton; two sisters, Hazel Stewart and husband Ervin, and Julia Dawsey and husband Bill, all of Panama City Beach, Fla.
There will be no formal visitation but friends may call anytime at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Homes, Kingsport.
Graveside services will be conducted at 12 noon Thursday at East Lawn Memorial Park with Steve Payne, minister, officiating.
