Eve Merritt Smiley

ALPHARETTA, Ga. -- Visitation for Eve Merritt Smiley will be held today from 11 a.m. - 1 p.m. at Louie E. Jones Funeral Home. Visitation for Meridian area friends and family will be held Sunday from 2 p.m.- 4 p.m. in the Parish Hall of The Episcopal Church of the Mediator. Mrs. Smiley, 68, of Alpharetta, died Tuesday, Jan. 23, 2007, at St. Joseph's Hospital in Atlanta. She was born on March 23, 1938 in Meridian. She was a long time member of the Episcopal Church of the Mediator in Meridian.

Survivors include her husband of 46 years, Charlie W. Smiley Jr., of Alpharetta; children, Susan Smiley Campbell and her husband, Steve, of Woodstock, Charlie W. Smiley III and his wife, Sherri, of Canton, Shawn Smiley-Green and her husband, Dave, of Oak Hill, Va.; grandchildren, Noah Campbell, Skylar Smiley and Summer Smiley; Phillip Green and Austin Green; several cousins and friends as well as her cats, Annie and Lou.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Maud and Robert Leo Merritt of Meridian.

Memorials may be made to the Episcopal Church of the Mediator or a charity of choice.
