Evelyn Brady Slade

Beloved Mother

And Teacher

An Elect Lady

Our dear angel mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and aunt joined her eternal companion on August 8, 2004. They shared 68 years together in this life and have both passed on to eternity together, hand in hand.

She was born March 14, 1915 to Estelle Mae Ball Brady and William Isom Brady in Manassa, Colorado.

Ralph and Evelyn have three children, 15 grandchildren, and 33 great-grandchildren who will all miss their mother and grandmother deeply.

She taught hundreds of children in school for 38 years. She was Teacher of the Year in three different schools and was Teacher of the Year for the Granite District just before she retired. She loved all of the children she taught and inspired them to do their best for ``Mrs. Slade.''

She was a devoted member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter- day Saints. She taught Relief Society and Sunday School and had an article written in ``The Instructor'' about her gifted teaching. She worked many years in the MIA and received her Golden Gleaner award. When she was a ward drama director, her home often went without furniture during the productions. She served on a mission to Northern Ireland with her husband. Advertisement

In everything she did, she gave 100% of her time, talents, and abilities. She loved the songs of birds, the beauties of the earth, and reading and writing poetry. She enjoyed oil painting and giving her pictures to her children and grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, three sisters and one brother.

She is survived by her three children, Janis (Beryl) Loveland of Taylorsville; James Edward (Pam) Slade of Lindon, and Shirley (Mark) Pendleton of Riverton; brother Elbert (Lora) Brady of Mesa, Arizona and a sister Elsie (John) Allan of Orem.

The family wishes to express heartfelt appreciation for the love shown to her by neighbors who visited and came to play ``Upwards'', which was one of her favorite pastimes. We also express our thanks to Residence Care Source Hospice Team for their professional loving and care.

A viewing will be held at the Taylorsville Stake Center, 4845 S. Woodhaven Dr. (1365 W.) on Thursday, August 12th from 6 to 8 p.m., and again on Friday, August 13th from 10 to 11:30 a.m. The funeral service will follow the viewing on the 13th. The interment service will be held at Redwood Memorial Cemetery, 6500 S. Redwood Road, West Jordan.
