Evelyn Cunningham Stringer
Evelyn Cunningham Stringer, 82, of Trout, passed from this life on Tuesday, February 10, 2009, at the LaSalle Nursing Home in Jena.
She was a retired nurse and a member of the Searcy Baptist Church.
Services were held at 3 p.m., Thursday, Feb. 12, at Searcy Baptist Church with the Revs. Ricky Vines and Ed Jelks officiating.
Interment followed at the Hawthorne Cemetery in the Little Creek community under direction of Hixson Brothers Funeral Home of Jena.
She was preceded in death by one son, Lawson ``Little Butchie'' Stringer, Jr.; her parents, Hanson Daney and Katie Mae Cunningham; and two sisters, Zule Cunningham and Bertha Mae Cunningham.
Survivors include her husband of 63 years, Lawson A. Stringer, Sr., of Trout; two daughters, Sharon Belgard of Trout and Scarlet Lanier of Jena; three sons, L. D. Stringer, Hansen Stringer, and Collin Stringer, all of Trout; one sister, Belvia Arnold of Silsbee, Tx.; ten grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers were Bradley McDowell, George Boyd, Jim Belgard, Dan Stringer, Dale Stringer, Daney Stringer, Levi Stringer, and Eli Stringer.
Honorary pallbearers were Scott Parker, Triston Belgard, Corbin Kendrick, and Jesse Cooper.
