Evelyn Emmons Carlin

Evelyn Emmons Carlin, 63, of Beaumont died March 28, 2005 at her residence. A native of Clarks, Louisiana and resident of the area all of her life, Evelyn taught Special Education at West Hardin Independent School District for twenty years. As well as being an advocate for her students, Evelyn was an avid reader and cook.

She is survived by her daughter, Mary Lou Head May of Beaumont; son, Jack Flynn Carlin II of Beaumont; sisters, Virginia Smith of Cleveland, Texas, Lillian R. Gast and her husband Richard of Baton Rouge, Louisiana, and Irma Daigle and her husband Jimmy of Port Arthur; four grandchildren, Ronnie, Shaelyn, and Monica Head and Austin May; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Her parents, Leon and Bessie Emmons; brother, Bobby Ray Franklin; and two sons, Ronald Bryan Head II and Richard Lane Head preceded Evelyn in death.

Funeral services will be 3:00 p.m. Thursday, March 31, 2005 at Broussard's, 2000 McFaddin, Beaumont followed by burial at Forest Lawn Cemetery. A gathering of family and friends will be from 6:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. Wednesday evening, March 30, 2005 at the mortuary.
