McNEIL

Evelyn Williams McNeil, 88, a native of Bay Springs, Miss., and a resident of St. Martin, went home to be with her heavenly family on Tuesday, March 29, 2005. A devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and aunt, she dedicated her life to her family. She was a member of the Baptist faith.

A former assistant manager with Super Stores Inc. (Biloxi, Miss.) and a former employee of the West Jasper County School District (Bay Springs, Miss.), she retired from the Jackson County School District (St. Martin), at age of 72.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Edwin Luke ``Buddy'' McNeil, and her son, Carey Glenn McNeil.

She is survived by three daughters, Jean Corley (Wayne) of Laurel, Miss., Avanelle Upton (Jerry) of Bay Springs, Miss. and Sharon Landry (Bobby) of St. Martin, Miss. She also is survived by nine grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild. She also left to cherish her memory, one brother, Coyt Williams (Judy) of Bay Springs, Miss. and numerous nieces and nephews who she called her own.

Visitation will be held on Friday, April 1, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Colonial Chapel Funeral Home in Bay Springs, Miss. Funeral services will be held at the same location on Saturday, April 2, at 1 p.m. with her grandson, The Reverend Dr. Robert L. ``Buddy'' Landry of Gautier, Miss., officiating. Burial will follow at Antioch Cemetery on Hwy. 18, east of Bay Springs.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the First Baptist Church of Gautier Piano Fund, 325 De La Point Drive, Gautier, Miss. 39553.
