Funeral services for Mrs. Fay M. Tucker, 68, of Carthage were held Saturday, March 31, 10 a.m. at the Jimerson Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Charles G. Dodson officiating. Burial was in the Jimerson's Restland Memorial Park.
Mrs. Tucker died Wednesday, March 28, in Bossier City, LA.
Mrs. Tucker was born February 17, 1922 in Fisher, LA. and was the daughter of Richard Grady and Irene Higdon Mixon. Mrs. Tucker and her husband John, moved to Carthage in November, 1958 from Houma, LA. and formally owned Carthage Flower Shop. She was an active member of Central Baptist Church as well as a member of the church Silver Tones, Silver Strummers and the B.A.L.L. Club. She also has been a sunday school teacher for 30 years.
Survivors include: husband, John D. Tucker, Carthage; one daughter, Martha Kay Bush, Huntsville; one son, Mike Tucker, Soda Springs, ID.; three brothers, R.G. Mixon, Minden, LA., Bob Mixon, Shreveport, LA., Jim Mixon, Palestine; three sisters, Pauline Walden, Bossier City, LA., Bette Skinner, Converse, LA., Tam Ross, Ida, LA.; three grandchildren, Lisa R. Bush and Leslie J. Ferrell, both of Houston, Christopher Tucker, Pocatello, ID.; one great-grandchild, James Patrick Ferrell, Houston.
Pallbearers were W.L. Edmonds, James Ferrell, Roland Nail, Jimmy Rushing, Clarence Turner and Dickie Walden.
Honorary pallbearers were W.W. (Pat) Bush and Hull Heaton.
