Florence B. Lofton

BOSSIER CITY, LA -- Funeral services for Mrs. Florence B. Lofton, 89, will be held at 3:00 p.m., Sunday, January 18, 2009, at Hill Crest Memorial Funeral Home. Officiating will be Dr. Jonathan Suber of Faith Tabernacle Church, Pine Hill Rd., assisted by Rev. Mack Brantley of Fellowship Tabernacle Church, Benton, LA. Interment will follow in Hill Crest Memorial Park. The family will receive friends and loved ones on Saturday evening between the hours of 5:00 p.m. and 9:00 p.m. at the funeral home.

Mrs. Lofton was born August 1, 1919, and went home to be with her Lord at 11:30 a.m., January 16, 2009. She was a devout Christian and blessed all those who knew her with her kindness and loving heart. Florence was a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, and will be deeply missed by all those she knew and loved.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Ernest and Bertha Bonnette; her loving husband of 52 years, Rev. Edwin M. Lofton; son, Donald Wayne Cobb; sisters, Thelma Collins, Daisy Baker, and Bessie Dickson; and brothers, Jessie ``Bjon'' Bonnette, Ernest ``Scoot'' Bonnette, and Alford Bonnette. Left to cherish her memory are her children, Tommy Cobb, Sr. and wife, Shirley of Shreveport, Mildred Cobb Walker of Bossier City, Pauline ``Polly'' Bedgood and husband, Thurman of Shreveport, Isidee ``Tincey'' Cobb Millican and husband, Ronnie of DeBerry, TX, Bonnie Cobb Simons and husband, Rev. Dale Simons of Blanchard, LA, Clyde Lofton and wife, Mary of Haughton, LA, and Sandra Lofton Haga of Diana, TX.; sisters, Dorothy Green of Haughton, LA, and Ellen Wood of Campti, LA; brother, John Major Bonnette and wife, Laura of Campti, LA; nineteen grandchildren; thirty-nine great-grandchildren; and thirty-seven great-great-grandchildren.

The family would like to offer a special thank you to Dr. Carter Boyd and staff, and Ark-La-Tex Cardiology and Associates.

Pallbearers will be Mrs. Lofton's grandsons and great-grandsons.
