Florence Buckelew Knapp
Florence Buckelew Knapp, 94, died at 2 a.m., Thursday, May 1, 2003 in San Diego, California. Florence was born in Trout, April 3, 1909. She taught school in LaSalle Parish for 30 years living in Jena until 1990. She loved Louisiana. After Memorial services in San Diego Wednesday, May 7, 2003, funeral services will be held Monday, May 12, 2003 at 1 p.m. at the Nolley Memorial Methodist Church of Jena, with the Rev. Paul Carroll and Mark Benge officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery under the direction of Kinner and Stevens Funeral Home of Jena.
Mrs. Knapp is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, George and Karen Knapp Varvarousis of San Diego; daughter-in-law, Sandra Howard of Sulphur; sister, Lillian Feavel of Shreveport; four grandchildren, Carleen Hyatt of Westlake, Shawn McDonald of San Diego, California, Kristine Knapp of DeQuincy and Florence Overacker of Sulphur. Also she is survived by 8 great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Knapp was preceded in death by her husband, Lloyd Knapp and her son, Carl Knapp.
Memorials may be made to Nolley Memorial United Methodist Church in Lieu of flowers.
Friends may call in the church from 11 a.m. until time of service Monday, May 12, 2003.
