IN MEMORIAM

In the death of Mrs. Florence Milam, of Jasper, formerly of Blocton, her family and numerous friends have received a severe shock. She was called away to her last account by the sad Messenger of Death on Nov. 30, 1930.

Born in Bibb County, Feb. 29, 1854, her entire life except a few years in Walker County have been spent in and around Blocton. For several weeks before she went to her reward her suffering was great but she bore it with the same patience she had shown all her life, never murmuring, realizing it seemed as the end drew nearer, that she would soon be at home with Jesus. She was esteemed, loved and appreciated by all who knew her and expecially by children. Her gentleness of disposition, kindness of heart and affableness toward all justly rendered her a favorite among many. Her gentleness of character was a conspicuous trait and no one had more friends than she among all classes of society.

The life has not ended, it has only begun in all of its beauty and greatness. Blessed are they who died in the Lord.

Mrs. Milam left to mourn her going a son, Ury Milam of Jasper, and several stepchildren, C. N. Milam of Bessemer, Mrs. Jessie Kline of Helena, Mrs. Lonnie Jones of Brighton, Mrs. Geo. Nash of Piper and other relatives and friends.
