The automobile which struck the unfortunate woman, was driven by Miss Marie Louise Ake, 2011 Elliott street, according to police.

Mrs. Segrist is said to have been attempting to cross the street when struck down by the machine. The accident occurred at 1:30 o'clock. She was rushed to the Charity hospital in Pineville in a Morgan Bros. ambulance, where she expired two hours later.

She formerly taught in Pineville, but for a number of years she had been a member of the faculty of Central grammar school, in Beauregard street, and was popular among the teaching staff, and the students, as well as a large circle of friends, and consequently her tragic passing has cast a pall of gloom over the entire city.

Cartright Holstein of Monroe; Sidney Holstein of Pineville; Mrs. C. C. Prichard of Natchez, Miss.; Mrs. (Dr.) I. N. Adams of Pineville; Mrs. Gray Gill and Miss Leila Holstein of New Orleans.

Dr. W. L. Murrell, Rapides parish coroner held an inquest at the Charity hospital in Pineville at 4 o'clock Saturday afternoon, and the jury rendered a verdict that deceased came to her death as a result of a fracture of the base of the skull and a fracture of the lower right leg, due to an automobile accident. The time of death was fixed at 3:49 p.m.

The coroner's jury was composed of Dr. I. N. Adams, Dr. Walter Holloman, Dr. S. H. Barkoff, Clarence Hathorn and R. S. Holstein.

The funeral of Mrs. Florence Holstein Segrist was held Wednesday. Services were conducted at 10 a.m., by the Rev. B. C. Taylor, pastor of the First Methodist Church, after which the procession went to Natchez, Miss., where interment took place.
