Florence D. Giampa

PORTSMOUTH - Florence Dunn Giampa, 89, of 188 Jones Ave., died Monday, Jan. 9, 2006, at Portsmouth Regional Hospital after a long illness.

Born in Lynn, Mass., on Feb., 29, 1916, she was the daughter of Victor and Mary (Nor) Giampa and had been a resident of Portsmouth for more than 40 years.

The widow of Joseph F. Giampa, who died in 1998, she is survived by a daughter, Mary L. Covello of Worcester, Mass.; a son, Dean E. Dunn of Bremerton, Wash.; six grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; five sisters, Evelyn Marconi of Portsmouth, Irene Thompson of California, Doris Patsiga of Connecticut, Margaret Turner of Laconia and Corrine Gorman Findley of Florida; two brothers, Louis Ladrie of Portsmouth and William Ladrie of Rye; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by a son, Victor Thomas Dunn; and five siblings, Victor Ladrie Jr., Angelina Ladrie, Daring Standish, Rose Feinbiner, and Helen Kennerley Peabody.

SERVICES: A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Friday at 9:30 a.m. at St James Church. Visiting hours will be held Thursday from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Farrell Funeral Home, 684 State St Portsmouth.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. James Church, 2075 Lafayette Road, Portsmouth, NH 03801; or to the charity of one's choice.
