Florice Big Mama Williams
(January 29, 1925 - June 1, 2009)

Funeral services for Mrs. Florice ``Big Mama'' Williams, age 84 of Hebert, will be 11 AM Wednesday, June 3, 2009 from the sanctuary of Bethany Baptist Church in Hebert with Bro. Robby Yates officiating and Bro. Don Wright delivering the eulogy. Interment will follow at Bethany Cemetery in Hebert. Visitation will be Tuesday evening from 6PM to 9PM at Riser Funeral Home in Columbia.

Mrs. Williams was born in Hebert on January 29, 1925 to the union of Carl A. and Edna Mae McDonald Williams and passed from this life on June 1, 2009 being blessed to have been able to be at her childhood home with the care received by her oldest granddaughter and husband, Penny and Dave Williams.

She was preceded in death by her parents and grandson; Thomas W. ``Tommy'' Bamburg.

Big Mama was a member of Pine Grove Apostolic Church for 22 years under the direction of Bro. Mike Yates. She was a former member of Apostolic Church of Houston with Bro. Verbal Beane in Houston, TX. She was a graduate of Columbia High School in 1942. In 1975 she received her degree in Nursing from Delta Ouachita. She spent her life serving God and others in the community. She will be missed by all who knew her.

Survivors include her three daughters; Linda Godwin McClanahan and husband, Isaac of Hebert, Norma Jean Godwin Harris and husband, Haskell of Downsville and Janie Godwin Harris and husband, Rickey of Hebert, six granddaughters; Penny Bamburg Williams and husband, Dave, Dallas Evans, Wendy Harris Tucker and husband, Ken, Lori Harris, Rena Harris Ryan and husband, Chad, Amber Harris St. Martin and husband, Gary, ten great-grandchildren; Evan Wilson, Ciarra Williams, Zachary Tucker, Samuel Harris, Olivia Harris, Colton Ryan, Casey Ryan, Jacob Bass, Garrison St. Martin and Elijah St. Martin, two godsons; Billy Modisette and wife, Lisa and Bill Spangler and wife, Candy and goddaughter; Lynette Young.

Pallbearers will be Dave Williams, Chad Ryan, Ken Tucker, Gary St. Martin, Bill Spangler and Marty Spangler. Honorary pallbearer will be Billy Modisette.
