Funeral services for Mrs. Floriene Petty Hall, age 89, will be held at Kilpatrick Funeral Home Chapel in West Monroe at 2:00 PM, Saturday, July 2, 2005. Dr. Kim Hall, her son, will officiate with Bro. Rick Crandall and Bro. Herman Savoie assisting. Interment will be at Roselawn Memorial Gardens in Calhoun, LA under the direction of Kilpatrick Funeral Home, West Monroe, LA.
Mrs. Hall has been a homemaker and resident of West Monroe for over 35 years and in Farmerville, LA for 19 years. She passed from this earth into her heavenly mansion that Jesus has prepared for her on Thursday, June 30, 2005 after a lengthy illness. She was an active (when health permitted) and devoted and well loved member of McClendon Baptist Church.
Mrs. Hall was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Dr. Luther B. Hall, long time Baptist pastor and former president of the Louisiana Baptist Convention and, also, her mother and father, Mr. and Mrs. Gilbert Petty and brothers Edgar and Billy Petty.
Her love, devotion and ready smile will be missed by her five children: Myrna Tarver and her husband Bobby L. Tarver of West Monroe, Lydia Willis and her husband Dr. Gladden Willis of Doylene, LA, Dr. David Hall and his wife Madeline of Baton Rouge, LA, Joe Hall and wife Judy of West Monroe and Dr. Danny Kim Hall and wife Martha of Plano, Texas; one sister: Eloise Pilgreen and husband Billy Clyde Pilgreen of Shreveport and sisters-in-law Dorothy Fierro of Colorado Springs, Co and Mary Thomas Reynolds of Jasper, TX.
She was also blessed with twenty-one grandchildren, twenty-three great grandchildren, one great great grandchild and a host of nieces and nephews. She will also be missed by many, many dear friends and loved ones across the United States.
Mrs. Hall spent the last four years in Rosemont Assisted Living before entering West Monroe Guest House following a severe stroke in November of 2004. In both places, she was given excellent care and love. The family wishes to thank the staff of both places for their care.
Pallbearers will be some of her grandsons: Austin and Loye Willis, Paul Lind, Scott Berry, Hunter and Daniel Hall.
We ask her friends to keep her beautiful memory alive by contributing to the Global World Ministries where a place has been dedicated to Dr. and Mrs. Hall's memory on the newly organized Russian Extension of the Leavel College of New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary.
