Florine R. Letlow

Florine R. Letlow, 74 of RAYVILLE, a retired school teacher, died Tuesday. The funeral is at 10 a.m. Thursday at First Baptist Church. Burial will be at New Salem Cemetery, Girard, under the direction of Mulhearn Funeral Home, Rayville. Visitation will be from 5-9 today at the funeral home.

Florine R. Letlow

RAYVILLE - Services for Florine Richards Letlow were held Thursday, Jan. 29, at Rayville First Baptist Church with the Dr. Ernest Winburn officiating. Interment was in New Salem Cemetery at Girard under direction of Mulhearn Funeral Home.

She died January 27 following a brief illness.

She had a long career of service to the Richland Parish School System, including teaching at Holly Ridge and Mangham High Schools, and organized the parish resource library at the Media Center.

An active member of First Baptist Church of Rayville, she also was involved with the Lambda Kappa Club, Northeast Louisiana Women's Investment Club, Richland Parish Homemakers Club, the board of the Richland Council on Aging, the Marie Hooks Sunday School Class, Retired Teachers Association, Saints Alive, Daughters of the American Revolution, the Rhymes Memorial Library Society and the Northeast Louisiana University Alumni Association.

Survivors include six children and their spouses, Jim and Rhonda Letlow of Mobile, Ala., Bill and Donna Letlow of Mer Rouge, Donald and Sheri Letlow of Rayville, Richard and Judy Letlow of Bastrop, Sandra and Bill Green of Rayville, and Deborah and Grover Burgess of Rayville; nine grandchildren, Abby Green, Will Green, Ben Burgess, Hanna Burgess, Mary Ella Burgess, Lane Letlow, Kelsey Letlow, James Letlow and Jenifer King; her brother and sister-in-law, Harold and Mary Richards of Dry Prong; brother-in-law and his wife, E. E. and Florence Letlow of Arcadia; sister-in-law Wyona Richards of California; and special in-law Connie Burgess of Mangham.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Dr. J. C. Letlow; her parents, J. C. and Nancy Richards; and her brother, Jim Richards.

Pallbearers were David Davis, Johnny Letlow, Rickey Davis, E. E. Letlow, Jr., Dewayne Hendrix, Charles Davis, Jerry Head and Bo Davis. Her grandsons served as honorary pallbearers.

Memorials may be made to the J. C. Letlow Memorial Baseball Fund of Rayville High School.
