FLOYD MERVIN ``MERV'' DAVENPORT, 96, passed away March 27, 2004 in Houston. He was born March 6, 1908 in Pond Creek, Oklahoma, son of Hugh and Mabel Davenport. He was a Photo Engraver, employed in that trade since 1924. After retirement he served as a volunteer at Hermann Memorial Southeast Hospital, The Seaman's Center, and Covenant Presbyterian Church, receiving the City of Houston Mayor's Award for outstanding volunteer service in 1986.
Left to cherish his memory are son Bob Davenport and wife Arleen; daugher Carleanne Tognetty and husband Tim; sister Faye Cullison; grandchildren: Debbie Davenport, Lisa Lie, Angela Assens, Julie Woolsey and Lara Aston; and 12 great grandchildren, along with numerous other friends and relatives.
The family will hold a Memorial Service at Oak Shadows Retirement Center, 4801 Allendale, Houston 77017 (713-941-7700) on Wednesday, March 31st at 2:00 PM.
