Floyd H. Wilkinson

Floyd H. Wilkinson, 82, of Liberty, died Feb. 17, 2001, at Our Lady of the Lake Regional Medical Center in Baton Rouge, La.

Visitation is 5-10 tonight at Brown Funeral Home in Gloster. Services are 11 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home chapel, with the Rev. Joe Felder and the Rev. Judy Sibely officiating. Burial will be in Whittington Memorial Cemetery in Liberty.

Mr. Wilkinson was born April 30, 1918, in Amite County.

He was retired from Georgia-Pacific Corp. in Gloster, and was a member of the Methodist faith. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II, and a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post No.6463 in Crosby.

Mr. Wilkinson was preceded in death by his wife, Sadie Wilkinson; one sister, Eva Sullivan; one son-in-law, Cecil Etheridge; and one daughter-in-law, Bonnie Wilkinson.

Survivors include seven sons and six daughters-in-law, Floyd and Janet Wilkinson of Milford, Del., and Ray and Lorraine Wilkinson, Basil and Mildred Wilkinson, Don and Peggy Wilkinson, J.C. Wilkinson, Tony and Nel Wilkinson and Faron and Kay Wilkinson, all of Liberty; three daughters and two sons-in-law, Betty Jo Etheridge, Helen and Lavere Jackson, and Melba and Mike Larimore, all of Liberty; one sister, Ava Whittington of Liberty; 26 grandchildren, 35 great-grandchildrenand eight great-great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be David Wilkinson, Tim Etheridge, Howard Wilkinson, Bruno Wilkinson, Bobby Wilkinson and Bruce Jackson. Honorary pallbearers will be Chris Wilkinson, J.J. Jackson, B.J.Jackson, Tyler Jackson and Jeremy Jackson.
