F. W. Burkhalter, 70, Church Founder, Dies
F. W. Burkhalter, 70, of 501 East Eighth, a resident of Dallas twenty-six years, died at a local hospital Monday evening after an illness of two days. Mr. Burkhalter was an active church worker here, and was a founder of the Marsalis Park Baptist Church. He was superintendent of its Sunday school for twenty years, and was a deacon in the church.
He is survived by his wife; three daughters, Mrs. Gertrude Little, Miss Veronica Burkhalter, both of Dallas, and Mrs. W. J. O'Rourke, Houston; two sons, M. F. Burkhalter, San Antonio; Earle E. Burkhalter, Austin; four sisters, Mrs. J. L. Bain, Mexia; Mrs. T. S. Turner, Vallejo, Calif.; Miss Vera Burkhalter, San Antonio, and Miss Ina Burkhalter, Waco; three brothers, H. P. Burkhalter, Lubbock; J. C. Burkhalter, Amarillo, and Frank E. Burkhalter, Waco, and twelve grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday.
