Franceil Frazer Gaar
(November 24, 1910 - December 7, 2007)

Mrs. Franceil Frazer Gaar died in her sleep at The Glen Retirement Center on Friday, December 7, 2007.

Funeral services will begin at 10 a.m. on Monday, December 10, 2007 in the chapel of Osborn Funeral Home with Rev. Robert Potter officiating. Interment will follow at Forest Park Cemetery, St. Vincent.

Mrs. Gaar was born on November 24, 1910 in Magnolia, AR. She was educated at Winnfield , LA public schools, Mansfield College for Women and Louisiana State Normal College (Northwestern State University) and was a certified elementary school teacher, businesswoman and homemaker. Her hobbies and talents were horticulture, especially orchid growing, knitting and crocheting. She was a member of American Orchid Society, Inc. (Orchid Growers of Northwest Louisiana Affiliate, Shreveport Orchid Society and the Order of the Eastern Star (Cedar Grove Chapter No. 135).

She was preceded in death by her husband, Kermit A. Gaar, Sr.; parents, Joseph Thomas and Zelma Long Frazer; sisters, Virginia Frazer Bowen and Marie Frazer Richardson.

She is survived by two sons, Dr. Kermit A. Gaar, Jr. and wife, Shirley of D/FW, TX and Dr. J. Frazer Gaar, Sr. of Baton Rouge, LA; and numerous grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
