Mrs. R. H. Upton Succumbs Here

Mrs. R. H. Upton, 56, of 2924 Darien died at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Schumpert Sanitarium after a lengthy illness.

A native of Minden, she had resided in Shreveport for about 15 years. She was a member of the Queensborough Baptist Church.

Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday in the Green-Kleinegger Chapel in Minden. Dr. Stanley Jordan, pastor of Queensborough Baptist Church, and the Rev. M. W. Merrill, pastor of the First Methodist Church of Minden, will officiate. Burial will be in the Gardens of Memory Cemetery in Minden.

Survivors include her husband, R. H. Upton; a son, Horace of Minden; a daughter, Mrs. K. D. Horton of Bossier City; three brothers, Banks and Elmo Burton of Minden and Beverly Burton of Ruston; a sister, Mrs. Ethel Farrington of Minden and five grandchildren.
