Frances Lofton McDonald
(June 1, 1931 - December 9, 2007)

Funeral service for Frances Lofton McDonald, 76 of Wisner, will be held 2:00 PM Tuesday, December 11, 2007 in First Baptist Church in Wisner with Rev. Thomas Peoples officiating. Interments will follow in Oakley Cemetery near Gilbert under the direction of Gill First National Funeral Home of Winnsboro. Visitation will be at the church Monday from 5-9 PM.

She was born to Andrew and Flossie Tarver Lofton on June 1, 1931 in Gilbert and passed from this life Sunday, December 9, 2007 in Franklin Medical Center following a sudden illness.

Mrs. McDonald was a longtime member of Wisner First Baptist Church. She married Johnny L. McDonald on December 21, 1947. She was former owner and operator of F&L Fabric Store and worked as a clerk at Cannon's Grocery Store. For many years, she served as Secretary and Treasurer of Oakley Cemetery. She was preceded in death by her parents; son Randy McDonald, and two brothers Daniel and Huey Lofton.

She is survived by her husband of nearly 60 years Johnny McDonald of Wisner; sister Gealeen Wiley of Gonzales; numerous nieces and nephews; and Trent Williams of Wisner, whom she and Johnny regarded as a grandson.

Pallbearers will be Mike Caldwell, James Harber, Trey Kiper, Huey Priest, Huey Stephens, Jesse Young, Ray Young, and Ralph M. Wiley, with the remaining deacons of Wisner First Baptist Church serving as honorary pallbearers.
