SHREVEPORT, LA -- Graveside services for Frances LaVerne McClung McCuller, 76, will be held at 2:30 p.m. Sunday, August 14, 2011 at Weldon Baptist Church Cemetery in Weldon, LA. Officiating will be Rev. Trey Lewis. The family will receive friends at Kilpatrick's Rose-Neath Funeral Home, Southside, Saturday August 13, 2011 from 4 p.m. until 6 p.m.
LaVerne was born on March 4, 1935 to William Chester and Mandyree Lee McClung in the Community of Weldon, LA and passed away in Shreveport, LA on August 11, 2011 due to complications from Colon Cancer.
She had a strong faith in her Lord and Savior and believed that all things were possible through Christ. She also had a soft spot for all animals, especially those abandoned. LaVerne is preceded in death by her parents, the love of her life for 57 years, her husband, James P. McCuller on August 15, 2009 and her sister-in-law, Alta Mae Jones. She is survived by her only child, Debra Linda “Deb” McCuller; brother, Kenneth McClung and wife, Betty; brother-in-law, Milton Jones; nephews, Michael McClung and wife, Elizabeth, Marcus McClung and wife, Tammy, Mitch Jones and wife, Rozanne; niece, Anita Jane Jones-Griffin and her husband; numerous great-nieces and great-nephews, cousins and special friend and neighbor, Mabel Dawson and family.
Special thanks go out to the nurses at LifeCare Hospital on Linwood and the nurses at Spring Lake Nursing Home A Hall, Yolanda, Lou Ann, Angela, Jennifer, Mary, Uganda, Vanessa and all the others who made my mom's stay there enjoyable. They were truly a blessing. Also thanks to Dr. Veluvolu and Dr. Patel and Harmony Life Hospice staff.
