FRANCES MONTEEN COX
FRANCES MONTEEN COX, born Aug. 7, 1924, in Lonoke, Ark., passed away this Thursday evening. Mrs. Cox was a resident of North Little Rock. She was the oldest of 14 children. She is survived by her husband, Calvin T. Cox; four sisters, Emma Lou Suggs of Prescott, Ariz., Wanda Whitaker of Bastrop, La., Jean Colvurn of Michigan, Susie Thomas of Sterlington, La.; six brothers, Alton Hart of Bangor, Maine, Clifford Hart of Swartz, La., Gerald Wayne Hart of Trenton, Ill., Mitchell D. Hart of Fort Worth, Texas, Namon Hart of Bastrop, La., and Darrell Hart of Swartz, La.; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Monteen will always be remembered for her cooking and her devotion and generosity toward her nieces and nephews. She and Calvin had been married for 48 years, and she was a former member of the Mer Rouge Baptist Church in Mer Rouge, La.
Graveside services will be 10 a.m. Monday, July 10, at Rest Hills Memorial Park, North Little Rock. Visitation will be from 3 p.m. until 5 p.m. Sunday, July 9, at Griffin Leggett Rest-Hills Funeral Home, 7724 Landers Road, North Little Rock, (501) 835-3515.
