MRS. FRANCES S. McCARTY
ROANOKE -- Funeral services for Mrs. Frances Sutter McCarty, 79, will be at 2 p.m. today, Jan. 3, in Roanoke United Methodist Church.
The Rev. Homer Bailes, pastor, will officiate. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery under the direction of Miguez Funeral Home.
The body will be taken to the church at 8:30 a.m. today.
Mrs. McCarty died at 7:45 a.m. Friday in a Lake Charles hospital.
A lifelong resident of Roanoke, she was a 30-year employee of the U.S. Postal Service, and served the last three years as postmaster. She was a member of the Ladies Aide Society, the Adult Sunday School Class, AARP and Roanoke Sewing Club.
Survivors include three sons, Edward L. McCarty of Houma, Howard E. “Knobby” McCarty of New Orleans and Philip N. McCarty of Morgan City, nine grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
