Frances Walker Sommers

Frances Walker Sommers, a native of Thomasville and resident of Linden, died Monday at a Demopolis hospital. She was 75.

Mrs. Sommers was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and worked as a seamstress at Vanity Fair Mills for many years.

Survivors include her husband, John Curtis Sommers of Linden; one daughter, Linda Sommers Earl of Salt Lake City; two sons, Barry C. Sommers of Tuscaloosa and Dennis Sommers of Greensboro, Ala.; one brother, Willie B. Walker of Thomasville; four sisters, Sybil Smith of Linden, Eloise Cochran of Carrollton, Ala., Margaret Ann Broome of Mobile and Sandra Gale Johnson of Aliceville, Ala.; and 10 grandchildren.

Visitation is set for 6 to 8 tonight at O'Bryant Chapel Funeral Home, where the funeral will be at 2 p.m. Friday. Burial will be in Linden Memorial Park.
