Frances Delina Newcomb Lyons
(February 2, 1919 - December 11, 2013)

Frances Delina Lyons, 94 of Laurel, died Wednesday, December 11, 2013 at her residence after a lengthy illness. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm, on Saturday, December 14, 2013 at Ellisville Funeral Home in Ellisville, MS with Rev. Jimmy Holder and Rev. Robby Johnson officiating. Burial will be in Myrick Cemetery. Ellisville Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements, 601-477-3797

Visitation will be held on Saturday, December 14, 2013 from 12:00 pm - 2:00 pm at Ellisville Funeral Home.

Ms Lyons, enjoyed her family and friends. She also loved flowers and loved to travel. She was known as everyone's “Nanny”.

Ms Lyons was preceded in death by her father, Eugene Windham, mother and stepfather, Laura and Charles Street, her Loving Grandparents, Ma and Pa Lightsey. Her first husband of 36 years, Senitte Newcomb in 1972, and her second husband of 17 years Doyle (Daddy Doyle) Lyons in 1998. Her son, Kimbel Newcomb, grandson, Kent Newcomb, stepchildren, Kerry Lyon and Winston Lyon.

Survivors include her 2 daughters, Sandra (Harlon) Walters, Laurel and Dianne (Roger) Shepherd, Laurel. A daughter in law, Dianne Newcomb, Laurel, 3 grandchildren, Regina (Gary) Kitchens, Ken (Jamie) Walters, Jason Shepherd, great grandchildren, Eric (Brooke) Walters, Brett (Alaina) Walters, Kayla (Daniel) Johnson, Amos Kitchens, Corey Shepherd, Zachary and Madison Newcomb, 3 great greatgrandaughters, Nevaeh Walters, Paige and Kara Walters. Also her stepchildren, Delton (Lou) Lyon, Doyleen (Bob) Higgingbotham and a host of stepgrandchildren. A brother, James Windham, a stepbrother, John H. Windham, stepsisters, Louise Bradley and Janice Newton. Extended family, caregivers, Nelda Manasco, Bill Robinson, Candy Fowler, and Kathy Wade. Pallbearers will be her great grandsons

In lieu of flowers the family has asked that donations be made to Freedom Baptist Church or Shriners Crippled Children's Hospital in Shreveport, LA.
