Francis Leet
(January 15, 1941 - December 26, 2010)

Francis Leet, 69, a resident of Slaughter, finished her work on Earth, serving her Lord, her family and friends, and went home to rest in the arms of her Savior on Sunday, Dec. 26, 2010, after a short battle with cancer.

She worked as a rural carrier for the U.S. Postal Service for 22 years before she retired. She volunteered her time for more than 16 years as the church secretary for the Redwood Baptist Church, Slaughter, of which she was proud to be a member.

Visitation at Charlet Funeral Home Inc., Zachary, Tuesday, Dec. 28, from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. and Wednesday from 9 a.m. until service at 10 a.m., conducted by the Rev. Ron Aguillard. Burial in Azalea Rest Cemetery.

She is survived by her husband of 48 years, Lawrence Leet Sr.; two daughters, Theresa Conrad and her husband, Eugene, of Slaughter, and Michele Lopez and her husband, Richard, of Jasper, Ala.; four sisters, Pat Truxillo and her husband, Daniel, of Rougon, Kathy Hill, of Richland, Miss., Lorene Davidson, of Zachary, and Shirley Kingsbury and her husband, Bill, of Snellville, Ga.; 10 grandchildren, Michael, Chad, Jeremy, Laramey, Lacey, Shanika, Jacob, Luke, Madison and Tania; and 14 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a son, L.W. `Larry' Leet Jr.; son-in-law, Larry Russell; two brothers, Grover Davidson Jr. and Shelby Davidson Sr.; and her parents, Matilda Irene Fambro and Grover Davidson Sr.

Pallbearers will be Michael Conrad, Chad Conrad, Jeremey Conrad, Luke Russell, Laramey Leet and Damien Davidson. Honorary pallbearers are Victor Conrad and Jacob Russell.

Thanks to the Mary Bird Perkins Cancer Center, especially Dr. Billings and Dr. Smithers. Thanks also to the Redwood Baptist Church family for their many months of loving support.
