Weems

Francis Irma Freeman Weems, 68, Summit resident, Amite County native and widow of Joe Louis Weems, died Sunday in Field Memorial Community Hospital in Centreville following a lengthy illness.

Visitation will begin 10 a.m. Tuesday in Hartman Funeral Home of McComb. Services will be 10 a.m. Wednesday in Hartman's with the Rev. Riley Hinton officiating. Burial will be in Adams Methodist Church Cemetery in Auburn.

Mrs. Weems was born Sept. 2, 1915, the daughter of Marion and Hattie Jane Lusk Freeman. She was a member of Mars Hill Baptist Church and a housewife.

Survivors include one son Michael E. Martin of Lee Hall, Va.; one step-son J.L. Weems Jr. of Baton Rouge, La.; four daughters, Camille Parker of Bay St. Louis, Juliette Lewis of Summit, Lynn Rye of Prairieville, La., Nancy Campbell of Summit; one step-daughter, Mary Kimble of El Paso, Texas; two brothers, Carl Freeman of Bogalusa, La., Lewis Freeman of Lexington, N.C.; 14 grandchildren, 18 step-grandchildren, two great-grandchildren and eight great-step-grandchildren.
